Also using an Oura Ring?

InsightTrail is built on Garmin data. Your activity, recovery, and daily readiness all flow from your watch. For users who also wear an Oura Ring, the picture deepens: Oura’s finger-based HRV, precise sleep staging, and skin temperature deviation add a layer of overnight recovery detail that sits beneath what most Garmin devices surface. When both are present, signals that look unremarkable in isolation become meaningful in combination.

See how we use both on the Methodology page →

What your next Garmin unlocks

Each tier adds data that changes what InsightTrail can tell you. This isn’t about having more numbers – it’s about which questions become answerable.

Forerunner 165 / 265
Adds HRV tracking and sleep scoring. Insights gain baseline comparison and overnight trend context.
Vivoactive 6
Full HRV, sleep score, respiration rate. Strong everyday option for energy and activity tracking.
Venu 3 / Venu 4
Rich sleep data, HRV, readiness, and skin temperature. Wellness-focused — deep recovery insight without a training emphasis.
Forerunner 965 / 570
Adds Training Readiness score and skin temperature. The fullest picture InsightTrail can work with for training-focused users.
Fenix 8 / Epix Gen 2
Same data depth as FR965 with multi-sport focus. Skin temperature requires Elevate v5 sensor.

Skin temperature deviation is available on devices with the Elevate v5 optical sensor. If you’re unsure whether your device qualifies, check the Garmin product page or search your model above.
